Some people disaprove of adding flouride to our drinking water because it is incredibly dangerous if you get to much in your body. 2.What would your position be on adding flouride to drinking water and why?
In my opinion, I would not care that much at all if there was flouride added to our drinking water. If flouride is proven by scientists to whiten your teath and help them get stronger over time, than I have no problem what so ever. The only problem that would maybe concern me is if they put to much flouride in the water, because it can cause damaged teath and can cause further injuries to your health. In conclusion, I would have no problem with flouride being added to our water.
3.What technological advances in toothpaste had to be made before flouride could be widely used in toothpaste and mouthwashes?
Flouride is highly reactive, so the technological advances in the toothpastes had to do with changing the ingredients. The three main ingredients were stannous flouride, sodium flouride, and sodium monoflouromonophosphate. Without these three ingredients, flouride could cause major decay on teath. These are some things that had to be changed so that toothpaste and mouthwash could be widely used.
4.What side affects of using flouride in drinking water are of most concern to you? Why?
The side affect that would mostly concern me would be that it can cause cancer. I thinks this is the worst because cancer is one of the worst deseases in the world and sometimes it can not be cured. Cancer is a worry for a numerous amount of people today, in which who I feel incredibly sorry for and wish the best for them. I belive cancer is the worst side affect of using flouride in our drinking water.
